According to a guy on Google, Microsoft stopped supporting the game on October 9th 2012 and the servers are now switched off so basically you can not sign in to play this online and they aren't letting customers know before buying.

Since none of your support on this site has helped anybody with this problem and there is not any solution on any other forum, the product key worked fine when I installed Halo 2, the program starts up smooth and the only issue I have is that Windows live does not accept my product key..I'm starting to believe that the Windows Live does NOT support Halo 2, which means the game cannot be activated and played offline or online..which means you are selling a broken product.
How are you going to address this problem since you are selling a game that is not playable while giving out solutions that have nothing to do with the problem?
